that scales? Like support for upto N players, matched based on how long they've been in the queue and how bad their ping is.
I know of open-match from Google but that seems "complicated." Maybe the work itself is. Just wanted to understand the fundamentals to a matchmaking service that removes any incidental complexity that implementations may add.
If it's not something very complicated, I would probably write something by myself. I haven't yet written matchmaking services myself, but I assume, they aren't complex beasts.
It's actually not that hard, it's the exact same theory as for order matching engines
