So I could just press enter on sudo prompt
No, geezus...just no
Why? Sudo password is useless anyway
So just setting your entire account's password to nothing is the solution?
I believe you can. Have you tried?
Yes, No password has been supplied.
You have to fiddle with PAM policies to allow that
What if you do sudo passwd <your user> ?
When you're root, some checks in passwd are disabled
So then this depends on the system?
Depends on how smart or dumb the distro maintainer is/was
I wrote a guide for this some years ago In a nutshell copy the empty password string in your passwd file You can get the empty password string from a Ubuntu live ISO
wow I will try that
Wouldn't recommend that, open an su shell if you are tired of typing the password again and again. Might increase compromise.
Wouldn't recommend that Why?
What's your threat model btw?
Zero threats
Please read the manpage for sudo. There is literally an option for exactly this: dont ask for password for sudo. Can specify a user or group
