Monitoring is done via Nagios but what the client needs/wants is a report of the current snapshot of the system's status.
Then pull this out of Nagios...have something that creates a report from the monitoring.
Nagios is old (version 3 something) and I don't understand Perl.
Dump into something that is newer and can exoprt
You can always create your own custom plugin using any language, and this plugin can push the data somewhere, eg. Database. Then query this database to generate report
