vs intellisense trys to load everything on this planet on my ram
well you can use vscode and use clangd based intellisense
You can give a try to Visual assist or Resharper
resharper has a ~1gb setup vs vassist ~36mb. which one is better in your experiences?
I have mostly used Visual assist, I havent used resharper too much, but both are really good
what about its resource usage on big projects
vassist is pretty good at it, also they had ue4 in mind
ReSharper++ is much more advanced but it's heavy, slow and buggy. VA is very fast but not that advanced. I use VA because on my project Resharper hangs and crashes VS which is completely inappropriate in my opinion
i really like VA's tools such as symbol search tool and it uses reasonable amount of resources. its caching on ue4 is slower than intelli but is ok all other stuffs are better.
By the way, many people tell that "Rider for Unreal Engine" is a good replacement for VS with Resharper++
