Are you new on Java too? You need to understand

the language pretty much before you start with Android. Do you know how java works? Orientated objects programming? Are you making that app because you want to learn programming? You said you are coping code from videos and you don't understand what you are doing. What's the point on that? Android development is difficult, if you don't have good knowledge about how java works you are following a bad path.

About your problem, you need to have a look at the logs your app is generating to see why is crashing
