a couple of diffrent IDs built into Android. I can't remember from the top off my head. But there are like 3 or 4 different IDs which change at different points of the device's lifetime and most if not all of them can be spoofed if I'm not mistaken, so if you want to count or identify unique installations of an app, you should create a unique identifying file which your app checks for. Of course, the user could delete this file as well if he knows what to look for, but if you don't have accounts and logins, this is supposed to be the most reliable way.
I think that the best way would be combining more than one method to get a better chance of success...
