Also compound wasn't really a "starter" lol. It got investments by coinbase and was audited multiple times. It still ended in disaster (or actually, it didn't even end. The token is still going, even after the bug that lost the guy 90 MILLION and him implying that most / all investors are commiting tax evasion). Compound was / is something that's ESTABLISHED in the space. And it's crap. Yes bugs happen, but they're not easily fixable in the DeFi space. Someone programmed a bug and you lost all your money? Eat dirt peasant. At least with normal currency the money is insured when your bank account gets hacked (and it wasnt gross negligence). Im defi, the bank is hacked. Or just vanishes with your money. Whatever. Eat dirt regardless

every system will have bugs. Starters will face more "common" issues as beginners. similar to how https was not a thing untill late 2014 when non secure sites vulnerability exploitation was booming
