think it should be some ways to make it more efficient but I am in lesson three of the book. I know that is not a good reason to write silly programs but to be honest I need some books to teach me algorithms. Teach me how to approach problems. That's the main part. More important than knowing syntax I think. Do you know such books?

"I know that is not a good reason to write silly programs" - no, that's a good reason actually. When I start learning something new I do the same - write small silly snippets. And I wouldn't call that program silly. Just tiny excersice. Yes, I know. This one: https://algs4.cs.princeton.edu/home/ . Damn, it's around 70 bucks, way more than average. Colleagues presented me with this one, never checked its price.
