your business?
Well Vsauce got it from a random name generator
You mean the science Youtuber?
Since I repsect your privacy, can you share how you named your business name as a freelance developer for your businss name indirectly?
Tbh the company name Vsauce sounds cool despite of its randomly generated name.
I haven't got up the courage to start a business just yet, so I wouldn't know. I just thought I would add my two cents to encourage others to answer :)
Aren’t you currently working as a freelancer developer?
Not a freelancer. I'm formally employed to write code full-time for this business. Idk if there's a specific name for it. I wouldn't say I'm a _developer_ because I'm still a student if that makes sense.
I'm not sure I understand the question, but I personally think it's a little bit of both? You can (or at least shouldn't) take up any project that come your way, because the clients don't seem to have a clue about what's feasible and what isn't, and why should they? They're not specialists in the field after all. What I'm trying to say is that consulting always comes first, and there seem to be no lack of people in need of consulting for (web) development and wanting to hire (web) devs for short-term projects. So I regard the consulting as extremely important to keep your sanity and firm enough to resists changes in the projects that you know will backfire, or even turn down the offer altogether. At the end of the day the "get nine women pregnant to conceive a baby in one month" just won't work in development, so imo you should have a spine to avoid disaster (consulting), have hands-on knowledge ready to put to practice and a variety of tools under your belt to choose the best one for the job (technology), which usually is a tailored solution.
Yeah, that’s exactly what I thought the nature of *consulting* and *technology* since consulting is too broad and you couldn’t provide what the client want if you suggest them your company is consulting based but *technology* would be a little more appropriate for “Web Development”.
