in settings and then wanted to delete it again for some reasons, but by mistake is that i accidentally deleted my very main account instead of the new one i created..when i switched my PC back on, i am unable to login to my account anymore as i used to.. on login screen it asks my username then my password but nothing works, it just says something like "That didn't work, try again later"..in that account i have lots of stuff in it so i cannot afford to lose any of those files.. what can i do to get back my account??
some other things i did to check if my account was deleted completely i just plugged in a USB which had my Ubuntu ISO file and i booted into it and went to the disks and i saw there was a partition there that has my account and all its files.. so having this information and knowing thay my account is still there how can i get it back?? sorry for long text
Deleting an account doesn't mean deleting files. It's just another directory in your home. Just make another account with the same name as your previous one. You deleted the link to your account, but not your files.
Back up the files and switch to a sane distro
Why don't you just create another partition and install Ubuntu there? This is a prime example as to why the OS and your home folder shouldn't be in the same partition. Since you already know your OS is broken, why not do things right from the get go now?
