my main root partition on Linux. I read a few articles and I really don't know what to do and I'm really worried to mess everything up. Can someone please guide me to know what to do and increase the partition size? Thanks
Boot live gparted ISO and do it from there
Thank you so much. Just to be more safe, do you suggest any article to read before doing this? I am a little worried about my files.
Step 1: backup all important data Step 2: look at your partition table and make sure the unallocated space is directly before or directly after your root partition Step 3: what Martin said
No need to worry, can always restore from your backup, right?
I'm not sure, the reason I want to increase the size is that I can't backup my files with timeshift, I only have a very old backup
Hello again Sorry to interrupt I had a question, I'm backing up my os and I don't know what to keep. I choosed /home and pacman and snapd cache to restore the packages if the os is corrupted, any other recommendations?
You might want to not include /home and the OS backup together. If I were you I would back them up separately
Oh thank you for your recommendation. I will do this if you say...
1. Why would you ever want to back up cache? 2. Disregard everything in "$HOME/.cache"
