USB from Linux given I have the .iso ?
woeusb I think
Ventoy
After this my USB just puts me in a grub shell :( I ended up sending the iso over ssh to my sister so that she could create bootable USB on her windows machine. I will then rsync the USB along with its partition table back to me xD
Or just save yourself the trouble and use Ventoy?
I don't care at all about windows
Didn't find it in Debian repos :(
Debian has next to nothing, just download it from the site
Me neither except my machine for some reason is just unable to run Fallout 3 via wine.
There's a tar.gz file, just extract it and run the shell script
So it's just a script?
https://www.ventoy.net/en/doc_start.html
https://github.com/ventoy/Ventoy/releases It's available on GH as well
oh it was for playing. I was worried it was for something real
Nah, there's no way anything real can be done on windows 😅 Although if I really have to use it temporarily cygwin is very useful.
if you could make the disk online via linux tools like fdisk then just need to format it and make it bootable and copy paste the data, it seems that microsoft has its own names for everything. i even don't know what diskpart's online means, active probaly means bootable
It doesn't want to boot windows xp iso in legacy BIOS mode for some reason :(
why are you using windows xp
For Fallout 3
compatibility mode?
Where's that?
right click on exe properties somewhere there which i don't remember
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=14322
use a properly patched wine release then debug it
can i use ubuntu repos in debian then?
Yes if you want a Frankendistro
Please for the love of God don't
What does that mean?
Because you'll break everything
Why would you want to install an Ubuntu repo on Debian, though?
