So why it doesn't give the users to choose between

using snaps or not? You can find some of gnome apps installed by snap in ubuntu 18.04 by default. Isn't this a mark for future policies?

You do realize that you can remove the snap and install from a repo. That's your choice, they have decided that using the snap is more effective for their distribution in that specific case
