A friend of mine wants to encrypt his existing Arch

installation. I was thinking this should be possible if he uses dd to make an image of his system root on some backup drive and clear out the existing partition in order to encrypt it. It should be possible to use dd afterwards to restore the root filesystem using the created image right?
