You are not a programmer and you think that you

know better than all the people that studied the field and work their asses off ?

What you are doing is named bikeshedding and it is both incredibly rude and also pretty stupid. Would you argue the same if what was discussed was a medecine instead of a software? If it was a nuclear power plant design?

no discussion is stupid. I never say I'm better than anyone who work day in day out as programmer. as I said earlier, tonight I'm a devil advocate, and all this argument are theoretical. sorry if you feel offended, but everyone is entitled for their own opinion.

Well.. I'd say he doesn't know any better and is convinced his approach is the way to go. No harm done there. It's just a shame that these people are still allowed to maintain applications for companies that have important value to the public.
