Sorry for offtopic but could anyone explain, how does DNS-over-HTTPS

work?
If I enter, for example, https://doh.example.com/dns as DoH, how will my PC know what IP should it use to send DNS queries?
It will have DoH domain address only, not IP.

The most important property is that the operating system is no longer responsible for name resolution with it but the applications are. Therefore it's a protocol that I do not wish to see being further adopted.

DoH is a fairly new idea, so operating systems don't support it by default (afaik). Therefore, there's always a software that provides normal DNS on localhost and resolves the incoming querys through DoH. But, some softwares like Firefox support DoH out of the box.
