gaming. About €1500+
I won't ever admit it but I think it's horrible at being a laptop. It gets hot all the time, the screen sucks about as much as my €500 shit tier Inspiron. it's way too thick, it needs a stand with vents to fucking work and it's full-plastic.
It's basically the same experience as my cheap tier plastic Dell, except it's a worse experience for university use and the only area where it's better is, in fact, gaming. Because you aren't going to game on my laptop. Maybe tetris. Even GNOME shell struggles to maintain a stable 60 fps.
€1500? I want a full metal build, a bright hidpi display, great keyboard to type on, excellent battery life and good portability
I fully agree, they are thick especially given that it's aimed at gamers... But there are no real engineering challenges there. Make the storage flash to be efficient. Make the screen be IPS rather than TN so it looks good. Make the fans tiny and optimized for laptop use so they don't take up as much space (usual laptop engineering). I might've forgotten some things but I don't think there's a whole lot of other things that differ from usual laptop build
