haven't tried Kali but I understand that it comes with software that security testers find useful. My doubts are,
1. If someone wanted a particular software, couldn't they install it on their current distro (which isn't Kali)? Does Kali do something special which is tedious to do manually?
2. Why is it not recommended to use Kali as a daily driver? Is it designed to be "less secure"?
1. Yes, they could. A few things for a tiny number of the tools, but not too cumbersome to get past easily 2. Because you run as root, so every program you run has access to everything. Yes, mainly because of root.
