In my opinion, gaming is the best application for NFTs. It's the next step in the evolution of in-game digital assets (like Steam items). And, it will benefit tremendously from the unstoppable growth of the gaming industry. As for the metaverse, it's still too early to tell. My personal guess: the earliest forms of the metaverse will be created by game publishing platforms to accommodate items in their ecosystem, and eventually the metaverse ecosystem will be progressively refined and successful.
