dual boot Windows 11 with bitlocker and Fedora with LUKS? I wanna dual boot my work laptop and full disk encryption is a requirement
1) you sure about FULL disk encryption and not just encryption? 2) does your laptop have two slots for drives?
1) I am not sure “full” is required, I think as long as the partitions with sensitive data are encrypted its fine (I think Bitlocker does this too, just encrypting the partition) 2) unfortunately not, only 1 SSD drive available
I would verify 2) as modern laptops tend to carry multiple M.2's, even when unpopulated. In that case yes, pretty sure you can use bitlocker on the windows partition and whatever else you want on the linux one.
So trying to do it one 1 disk is asking for trouble I understand from your reply? 🙈 but good change there is an empty slot yes, just need to buy an extra M2 then
If you required actual FDE somehow you might need two drives yes, but it should be fine on one. As long as bitlocker works fine with secure boot off you shouldn't have much trouble
Thanks! I’ll just try it I guess and have my bitlocker recovery key close in case something goes wrong haha
