LTS? If so, can I use Debian stable as an alternative to Ubuntu LTS?

I use vanilla arch (going to be more than one and a half year), used vanilla debian for a year. tried ubuntu, mint and many. My love for vanilla, independent distros is immeasurable. but truely wanna know why you said that (don't worry, I'm almost on your side, just wanna know your reasons).
