That's my gripe with it as well yeah. I don't believe for a second that the people who chose master/slave for DNS for example, designed it that way with slavery in mind. In fact, Paul Vixie himself got back to me back in the day, and explained that he chose that terminology over his car's hydraulic systems. He was simply interested in car modding while simultaneously working on the fundamentals of the DNS protocol. Context really matters, and is often lost on these Twitter lynch mobs. I guess 140 characters just doesn't convey the proper amount of context huh...
