The file that I have downloaded is this: NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-550.78 (1).run
Why are you using Debian? Debian is all about using old packages
Well after some research I found out that its good for new users
I did run the file but nothing happened
Nvidia in linux is sometimes a mess
how do you run the file?
I read somewhere that I had to make it executable first by chmod +x file_name But I don't exactly know what to do from here
let me try it
you actually need to learn basic Linux system admin. after you chmod +x, the file become executable. you execute the file with the command ./filename.run
I get this: Verifying archive integrity... tail: cannot open './NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-550.78' for reading: No such file or directory tail: cannot open '(1).run' for reading: No such file or directory Error in check sums 4294967295 3001910352
Get rid of the (1)
You don't, never use the run file.
