a laptop battery I need to replace that it is unavailable for them too. Basically this battery isn't sold anymore by anyone. My only alternative would be replacing the cells in my current battery (which currently has a capacity of a meager 200mAh). The voltage is advertised as 14.8V / 4.4Ah, so I guess it's 4 cells in series. The size of the battery itself however does not really add up to this. I don't think it's thick enough to be filled with 18650's (maybe something like 16500 and then 8 of them?) and it seems to be too tall and wide to be a bunch of batteries with a tiny controller (as you'd expect). Last time I opened a battery pack it was only half successful. The case had to be destroyed completely and the soldering process killed the controller too. Is it at all feasible or worth attempting to replace these cells? Given that this battery is all I'll ever be able to use apparently. Even other units of the same entire laptop (for parts) are really hard to get a hold of, and even harder to buy...
