to cut the power to a CPU fan when the system isn't heavily in use? There are 2 systems that are problematic in this regard - one in which I think the UEFI manages it (who on earth thought that that was a good idea?) and in the other one the CPU temp itself isn't even accessible, so the machine there certainly does everything on its own. I'd much rather have the systems throttle than blow the fans, especially since on the UEFI box it can't even slow down the fan afterwards, just like it can't power off on its own either (whether that's something in systemd or Acer's shitty UEFI, your guess is as good as mine). So yeah... The implementations seem to be shit and I'd like to bypass them. Of course all warranties void in that case and I'm aware of that. But of course I don't want to fry chips in the process either 🤔
In winblows there is an application that allows you to manage your fans. I forget what the name of it is. Ill check. I’m sure there is an alternative for Linux
