Hey guys. I'm having a hard time thinking of starting up

an IOT project that's more than a smart lighting system or some automated working car.

I'm a student and what I need is something that is not very costly to develop and is also useful.

I'm primarily looking at Arduino UNO, but can go for higher board if project requires.

Any suggestions please?
