What are you trying to achieve?
just survey for knowing more, i have basic knowledge of gitlab ci but my manager wants jenkins but im trying to convice him for gitlab
At a very high level there's little difference between what you can achieve with either. Figure out where the strengths for the majority of the team lies and then lean into the product that works for the majority of the team. As much as I like Jenkins as a tool, i've seen it badly configured and it can quickly become unmanageable.
Jenkins is used more in bigger and older organizations and gitlab more in "newer" ones. I would personally choose gitlab or something completely different depending on the rest of the architecture
Honestly at massive scale I'd use anything but Jenkins
i start waching udemy course for jenkins and as you said it give me old vibes because im saying to myself this job or task could be easier done in gitlab why he doing this like that?
Definitely hit that's how it's most of the time
so you telling me gitlab is better?
Jenkins is older and more widely used in established organizations
you mean k8s?
