And for the graphics, apart from the well known Adobe

software, what's part of the basics? I've seen a lot of people mentioning Figma and Sketch. Are they hard to learn on your own?

Figma is browser based and great for starting out. I personally use it for my UX/UI work and I'm really satisfied with it. Adobe products are great but if you're not willing to invest in it at the moment then there are some open source alternatives too. You can save money and invest in it later. Learn keyboard shortcuts they will help in speeding up your design process. Basics for web design are Color, Typography, Grid systems, Responsive Design, also take a look into Design Systems like Google Material Design. Everything will feel overwhelming initially, but start out in small steps, stay organized and you will move forward with this ☺️
