I'Ve got a career question, regarding DevOps both as culture

and as a role: How much progress can one expect to make as an SRE/Developer applying DevOps concepts while working for a software factory?

Right now I'm in this position, and I don't feel I'm progressing much while applying the same EC2 + S3 structure the average client request calls for. Am I limting myself in project structure, or is this model mostly incompatible with software factory workflows?

The name of your position will not change mutch. EC2+S3 is more like operations/system administration, devops is more about SDLC, infrastructure architecture, etc
