I'M getting a 404 error when I try to map

the port 80 to a different port. Any insight on this?

It depends what exactly you did. Paste your config here. Generally, I can tell you that what you should do is to set up an entrypoint with the address ":80", and another one - with the address ":443", with the TLS enabled. Afterwards, you set up your backend to listen on whatever port you want to redirect to - and you should be done. Just don't forget to set up a frontend. I know it's counterintuitive as fuck, but that's how it apparently works.
