Why you root nginx is "root /home/deploy/blog/public;" and you apply

the permission to /home/deploy/public ?

Nah. The directory is actually /home/deploy/blog/public. I was a little lazy to type the whole thing at first so skipped /blog and then continued the conversation with /home/deploy/public. The problem is probably the same so skipping that probably doesn't makes a difference.
