company's decision on X.
No. Not in trouble. Bake underwent a restructering and some employees were let go. Everything has its ups and downsides. Bake is now cashflow positive again.
When will be the transparency report promoted?
Usually towards the end of the month
Initially Julian mention on lasting the company for afew years without any income. Have things changed for DFI? How is the cashflow reserve for Bake now?
I think we haven't been profitable for a while.. We can go for a few more years, doesn't mean we will wait till then to take action? From what I understand, we grew too fast and those people should not have been hired in the first place?
Hi! Well, my humble opinion only, lets take the moderator badge for a moment. Sorry for the long post. Bake has a runway for 2 to 3 years, even if no revenue would come. Ok, fair enough. The good thing is that would never happen. Bake collects fees on anyone using their services, so a certain level of cashflow will always exist. So I guess Bake is here to stay, lets not sucumb to fud. That does not mean as you well say, that cashflow will always be positive every single month. And once that happens, that runway gets touched, and as you well said again, there is no advantage in draining it until there is no more, before taking action to tackle that. I'm going to be perfectly blunt here. Everyone has reason and no has reason. Why? Because this is human nature at its finest. Its easy to finger point A, B or C with half the facts or less, while forgetting all that's behind. So, a bit on the ugly and the beaty. Ok, the timming was bad, but if there was a proper time, it likely was this. Based on the info now public, Cake is restructuring to focus on what it does best and that we all know and remember. And people seem to be ignoring this, which is and should be the main message, Cake is going to be focusing on what it does best, and Bake is going to surf that wave also. A big announcement on the biggest update ever on Bake is going to happen soon, likely already conected to this restructure. I see every day users giving feedback on app issues, on rewards, on unstaking, withdrawals, and so on. And that is fair, and valued. Only with proper feedback we can evolve. The question here is that everyone is stressed and pointing fingers saying the company did this or that incorrectly. Well as I said finger pointing is easy, but I don't see anyone claiming that Bake was always transparent or that always paid all rewards when things gone less well. I also did not seen anyone remembering Bake supported from it's own pockets the rewards for BTC or ETH, after the collapse of major institutional clients that paid good interest on Bake users BTC and ETH (I don't remember the name of the service already sorry). Nor do I see anyone refering that Bake paid out in full also, the rewards for EARN, a failed product attempt, much requested by the community and which drained significant resources I believe in the conception and support, just to not gather any traction with the community that requested it, even losing money on that. The point here is, most of us know Bake and the good that it can do when they focus on something. But, sometimes, products or services do not have the return they should have. So yes, it's normal to rather focus on what you do well, and do it good! So, is actually a restructuration that bad, if it means going back to good better times? Sometimes that unfortunatelly means that you maybe cannot recycle all people, but like the message, the only constant is change. And who change, adapts and succeed. I have my opinion on today events but also the certainty that is based on little to no facts at all so I refrain from comenting on more. I do know, as a customer from Bake, that I always have been well served, with full transparency and that all was done in my best interest. I expect no less now also, and I know the team will deliver. All the best!
We still have years! Plus Bake is cashflow positive again, since yesterday. But it is decesions like yesterday, that keeps us healthy.
I have no issues on restructuring and no one is saying that cake is not transparent but founders publicly disagreeing on major decisions doesn’t look good.
